I studied at the School of Jewellery in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter over 25 years ago, After finishing my studies, I chose a different path, however, I ultimately knew that one day I’d return to jewellery.  Approximately 5 years ago, I finally returned and found a jeweller nearby willing to be my mentor. Under her guidance, I grew in confidence, rediscovered my skills and started to define my own style.  It took a few years for me to find ‘my style’ which I now know is striking, tactile yet beautiful pieces you can wear every day.

I get asked all the time where the name of the company derived from.  Sable is my favourite colour combination, including the colours of my beloved pooch, my kitchen and at one point, my hair. I kid you not!  The Fire, this comes from the element of jewellery making which makes me truly happy.  When you take a torch to the metal and heat it, you can almost feel it breathe with movement during the process and when you heat it enough, turning the metal molten and watching it swirl like mercury, well, that moment is pure joy.  I put the words together one day and had a ‘eureka’ moment.  That’s when Sable & Fire Jewellery was born.
